New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon Visits Jollibee on 1st day in Manila
MANILA, Philippines. April 19, 2024 — New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon delighted the customers and store crew of Jollibee’s EDSA Buendia Branch when he made a jolly stopover on April 18, his first day in the Philippines.
Jollibee Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer Ernesto Tanmantiong and Chief Business Officer Joseph Tanbuntiong warmly welcomed Prime Minister Luxon and His Excellency Peter Kell, New Zealand’s Ambassador to the Philippines, and Mr. Paulo Garcia, New Zealand’s first Filipino member of the Parliament.
To highlight their visit, Prime Minister Luxon, Ambassador Kell, and Garcia tried the signature Jollibee dishes composed of Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, Champ Burger, and Peach Mango Pie. The New Zealand dignitaries also got to taste the newest addition to the brand’s menu, the Jollibee Chicken Nuggets.
Prime Minister Luxon was seen taking selfies and chatting with the store crew and customers causing a frenzy in the Jollibee branch before receiving his very own Jollibee doll, Jollibee Funko Pop in Barong Tagalog, and limited-edition Jollibee watch.
The Philippines is the final leg of Prime Minister Luxon’s weeklong trip to Southeast Asia, which seeks to strengthen his country’s overseas engagements. Before visiting the Philippines, Prime Minister Luxon traveled to Singapore and Thailand.
