Jollibee Opens First Store in the U.S. State of Maryland near Washington, DC
Jollibee fans and newcomers to the brand in the state of Maryland – 30 mins from Washington, D.C. – can finally get a taste of the world-famous Chickenjoy and other favorites
In line with its continued expansion efforts in North America, homegrown restaurant company Jollibee Group opened its first Jollibee store in the state of Maryland in April, making it the 12th state where the brand is present. Located in the Westfield Wheaton Mall, the restaurant is 30 minutes away from Washington D.C., the capital of the U.S., and home to the White House, the Capitol Building, and other historical monuments. The opening allows the brand to attract “Gen Pop” customers who are unfamiliar with the brand but seek out new food experiences, as well as tourists who come to the area for its iconic landmarks.
“We are happy to welcome our fans who have patiently waited for Jollibee’s arrival in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area, as well as introduce the brand to curious new customers,” said Maribeth Dela Cruz, President of Jollibee Group North America, Philippine Brands. “We are proud to serve flavorful food options and look forward to sharing our exciting menu with the Greater D.C.local community.”
Fans, foodies, as well as first-timers, flocked to Maryland to have a taste of Jollibee’s comfort foods. Jollibee’s signature menu items include its world-famous Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, and Peach Mango Pie. Before the pandemic, Jollibee store openings have generated tremendous excitement amongst fans from all over the world who gather to celebrate their passion for Jollibee.
As part of the brand’s safety measures and in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, brand fans and curious first-time consumers are prohibited from crowding into stores but can still take home a taste of joy through the “call & pick-up” order process.
Westfield Wheaton marks the brand’s first location in the state of Maryland and its 49th store in the U.S. Since the start of 2021, Jollibee has opened five (5) new locations, putting the brand on track to achieve its goal of opening 300 store locations throughout North America by 2024. Jollibee fans can look forward to more locations popping up in major cities throughout the year, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City.
