MANILA, Philippines. 21 November 2024 โ The Jollibee Group has teamed up with the provincial government of Rizal, led by Governor Nina Ynares, to offer temporary jobs to senior citizens (SCs) and persons with disabilities (PWDs). This is the first provincial-level partnership of the Jollibee Group and the biggest of its scale in the food industry, marking an important step in the companyโs commitment to fostering equitable employment opportunities and to making workplaces more inclusive.
As of September 2024, the Jollibee Groupโs program has hired over 400 qualified SCs and PWDs for select stores of its participating brands like Jollibee, Chowking, Burger King, and Greenwich in the cities of Manila, Muntinlupa, Pasig, Quezon City, and Antipolo.
For the Rizal Province alone, an additional 60 SCs and PWDs will be hired to work at 20 stores of Jollibee, Chowking, and Greenwich. They will be helping out in roles like welcoming customers and assisting with table service. The program is ongoing in Antipolo City and in the municipality of Taytay, while San Mateo and Tanay will commence the program after the recent signings of the memorandum of agreement (MOA). Work is also underway for the finalization of MOA with the municipalities of Rodriguez and Teresa.
โWe are happy to support the efforts of Rizal Province in advancing the interest of the elderly and PWDs. Through this partnership, we will be able to help those who have the capacity and desire to
work and give them the opportunity to join us in our mission of bringing the joy of eating to everyone,โ said Ruth Angeles, Chief Human Resources Officer, JFC Philippines, and Head for Human Resources, Jollibee Brand International.
The Jollibee Group aims to continue expanding the program with more partnerships in different regions, with a goal of hiring more than 500 seniors and PWDs by 2025.
